What the heck is PD in the Privy?
I was teaching a workshop recently and the Tech Innovation coach shared PD in the Potty with me. I was already following Nick LaFave of Nicks Picks for Educational Technology; Tech Tools for Busy Teachers. Nick is posting his in the restroom stalls for faculty. Wow what an awesome idea.
Then Cathy Wells shared her version called Porcelain PD with me. That led the two of us to doing a little internet digging and found Mr. Wheeler's Learning in the Loo. And now my version is PD in the PRIVY. Cathy shared her raw Keynote with me and gave me permission to customize, boy does that same time!! Thanks Cathy for sharing. The first 2 editions are below. I can see lots of ways to do this, mine is tech focused, apps, tips and tricks, or at least that is what I am thinking right now, but could be about anything. Think students restrooms, advertise books to read, learn a grammar rule, just about anything......Think outside the box!!
My plan is to post in the restroom stalls on the floors in my building in the College of ED. Actually, I am gonna do 2 different ones each week... every other stall! That way no one is bored and everyone benefits. I hope to create and share two new ones each Monday. We will see how that goes! A special thank you to these amazing educators for sharing, Nick, Cathy and Mr. Wheeler for this creative idea.
If you would like the editable KEYNOTE, just shoot me an email via on contact form on the home page of this site.
I would love to see what you create, add your version to this Padlet and we can all benefit sharing with each other.

Why the name change? As I explained above, my plan was to put in the bathroom stalls in my building, but we have newly renovated restrooms and the rules say no signs or tape or anything put up in the restrooms. Bummer, but I do understand, a little snafu in my idea, but no worries I am going forward with the idea, slight name change and they will now go up over water fountains, in the workroom, by the copiers, where ever I can find that people wait. I am even thinking on the table groups in the classroom, but wow that would be a ton of copies!! I will see how it goes AND keep you posted. But feel free to use these and if you want the editable file just shoot me an email and I will send it your way. cyndidk@ksu.edu
